Ann Fisher

Head Teacher

Ann is a graduate of New Canaan High School, Wittenberg University with a BA in Early and Special Education, Antioch University McGregor with a Masters in Educational Leadership, and also completed the Ohio Principal Licensure courses.  She completed the ABA program through Penn State and has training in Orton Gillingham and Wilson approaches. She spent 20 years teaching students with special needs in New Canaan Public Schools. Ann is thrilled to be at FPNS where she can cultivate learning through play.  

She lives in New Canaan with her husband and two daughters, both of whom graduated from FPNS and attend NCPS. When away from the classroom, Ann loves to read, run, sail, and ski.

Tanya Jessop

Assistant Teacher 

Tanya grew up on Frogtown Rd in New Canaan where as a child she tended to the family donkey, goats, and sold eggs from her chicken coop. Her love of animals is second only to her love of children.  She attended New Canaan Country School, Brooks School, and received a BA in Art History from Washington College. After college, she worked as an event planner for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC before moving to London with her husband.  She has been living in New Canaan with her family since 2005 and now that her own kids (17 & 15) are attending NCHS, she’s looking forward to teaching and playing with your children at First Presbyterian Nursery School .

Courtney de Kanter

Assistant Teacher

 

Courtney graduated from Trinity College and completed the Early Childhood Certificate Program in spring of 2022 at NCC.  Before joining FPNS, she spent 8 years as a Director of Admissions and coach at independent schools. Before joining FPNS, she worked at Horizons at Greens Farms Academy. 

Courtney enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her friends and family.  She lives in New Canaan with her husband, two daughters, and dog.
